SelfSource is a web-based add-on to HRSource database/HRIS
that enables manager self-service and employee self-service in small to
mid-sized companies. It is a server-based tool that works with any popular
Internet browser such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
Manager Self-Service With SelfSource
managers can view the leave activity and balance of employees in the
department. They can write performance reviews and review historical reviews.
They are able to see information such as performance review due dates, prior
performance reviews and compensation data, and complete Performance Management
forms. Real time, accurate data at their fingertips help them to manage more
efficiently. No need to call HR to get specific information.
Employee Self-Service With SelfSource,
employees can view and update their personal data. Employees appreciate this
functionality because they can access the data at any time. HR benefits because
it reduces the amount of phone calls and paperwork coming in and out of HR.
Furthermore, new hires can take responsibility for data entry and accuracy of
their personal information. Examples of the tasks that an employee can perform

How is SelfSource Implemented?
SelfSource is built on Aestiva's HTML/OS product. HTML/OS is a
powerful and easy-to-use server-side software that can be easily customized. It
supports all popular server platforms, including Linux, SGI, Sun, Microsoft,
and BSDI platforms. It takes approximately 15 megs of disk space and does not
require reconfiguration of the server. The Aestiva technical staff has
successfully installed HTML/OS on hundreds of server configurations and they
provide outstanding support, including walking the user through installation.
